    BACKGROUND

    The case is the test base for new energy vehicles (NEVs) and intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) for FAW Group, China’s leading automaker, in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province, where it is headquartered. The total planning area is 266,000 sqm, with a total investment of 2.69 billion RMB.The test base mainly consists of 3 test areas for NEVs and ICVs respectively, and another for testing passive safety features, power cells, hydrogen fuel, as well as additive and subtractive manufacturing.

    Like most businesses, the large, staffed FAW base requires an efficient communications system.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    - The case involves communications across the entire base, with 2,000 phones deployed in the first phase of the project, which poses challenges in terms of network management of phones, including batch configuration and batch version management;

    - Rich enterprise-level features to improve office collaboration efficiency were required, including: at least 2 accounts, support for 5-way local conferencing, 1000 local contacts, group calls, and so on.
